You know it’s funny how liberals have a hard time getting over things. The events in Florida in November of 2000 still weigh heavy on the minds of most democrats; and another incident in 2004 has caused a stir, this time on Capitol Hill. Al Franken, T. Boone Pickens feuding over the swift boat ads is a good case in point.

Senate Democrats were having their weekly policy lunch, no doubt trying to figure out more ways to screw you and me; T. Boone Pickens, was there and received a pretty cordial welcome from most of the democrats at the luncheon. Then he made the mistake of introducing himself to Al Franken.

The feds arrest 32 in an ‘arthritis kits’ scam. The crack down on medicare fraud has resulted in the arrest of people from New York, Louisiana, Boston and Houston. Read about it below.

Arthritis Kits Scam

Arthritis kits are primarily expensive orthotics comprised of knee and shoulder braces. Apparently, these braces are rarely, if ever, actually used by patients. Federal authorities have uncovered a major fraud involving these kits that has targeted doctors who were scamming the health care system by prescribing them unnecessarily. Over 200 Federal agents raided physician’s offices and health care clinics in Louisiana, New York, Boston and Houston on Wednesday. They served 12 search warrants at health care businesses and homes in Houston alone. The doctors and health care providers who were targeted had billed between $3,000 and $4,000 per kit totally $16 million in costs.

7 Year Old Steals Car

It what is one of the most bizarre stories of the year, it turns out a 7-year-old steals a car to avoid church. It seems that on Sunday the 7 year old really didn’t want to go to church. He thew a big fit (because it was too hot to go to church) and then stole his dad’s car. Unfortunately, the parents didn’t even know their child and car was missing. “Honey, where’s Billy?” “I don’t know, funny, the car’s missing too”. Great parents eh? So the young lad took a cruise around Plain City Utah, weaving in and out of lanes, blowing through stop signs . . . a true Sunday joy ride.

Finally the police caught up with him and followed him, at times going near 45 miles an hour. The boy led him on quite the chase around 10 blocks or so, until he finally led them back to his house. Of course, when he reached his house he bailed and started to run. Police eventually caught up with the youngster. No charges were file due to his age, but hopefully his folks will keep a tighter leash on him, or at least get him driving lessons. From the report:

Allen Stanford is not enjoying his time bars. Stanford has this complaint, “Jail is Too Hot”. Yeah, I know what you’re thinking, it’s jail, it shouldn’t be comfortable. If you’re not thinking that, then maybe you should go check out a cell for a couple of days and then let us know how it went. Allen Stanford is in jail right now for bilking investors out of approximately $7 billion, yes billion.

Stanford has taken the steps to file papers with the Court asking to be transfered from the facility he’s in to another facility. There has been no ruling yet, but I don’t know if “Jail too hot” really is a valid excuse to be transferred. What could be more gruesome then a pregnant woman killed and her 8 month old fetus stolen right from her dead body? I can think of nothing else more disturbing then this, yet Massachusetts officials are reporting this is precisely what has happened. Why would someone take another person’s baby, and was that the motive of the crime in the first place?

Detectives and worried relatives are searching desperately for a cold-hearted killer who murdered an 8-months-pregnant Massachusetts mom, cut her uterus open and took her nearly full-term baby girl.

The decomposing body of 23-year-old Darlene Haynes was found wrapped in a blanket and dumped in a closet Monday in her apartment in Worcester.

Constance Trahan is being charged for running an illegal basement strip club outside of Atlanta, Georgia. The police were called to the home of Constance Trahan on July 18, 2009 because of a loud party that was occurring. Police found much more than just a party, they found a basement strip club.

Police also found evidence of underage drinking and drug use. Trahan was charged with “maintaining a disorderly house” and posted a $1300 bond.

Yesterday the United States Government indict 7 people for engaging in a terror plot against Israel. Of the 7, 6 were US citizen. Apparently the 7 were engaging in a plot to cause jihad in Israel and Kosovo.

Indicted were: Daniel Patrick Boyd, 39; Hysen Sherifi, 24; Anes Subasic, 33; Zakariya Boyd, 20; Dylan Boyd, 22; Mohammad Omar Aly Hassan, 22; and Ziyad Yaghi, 21.

All are charged with conspiring to provide support to terrorists and conspiring to murder, kidnap, maim and injure persons abroad.

The charges are related to allegations that they helped raise money and provide training for terrorism operations in Tel Aviv, Israel.

Whether or not you agree with Obama’s new Health-care reform, something you might care about is how Obama health-care might affect your freedom. Fortune Magazine has a great article explaining the 5 freedoms you will loose under Obama’s health-care plan. Here is a good explanation of why you will loose those freedoms (from the magazine).

A close reading of the two main bills, one backed by Democrats in the House and the other issued by Sen. Edward Kennedy’s Health committee, contradict the President’s assurances. To be sure, it isn’t easy to comb through their 2,000 pages of tortured legal language. But page by page, the bills reveal a web of restrictions, fines, and mandates that would radically change your health-care coverage.

If you prize choosing your own cardiologist or urologist under your company’s Preferred Provider Organization plan (PPO), if your employer rewards your non-smoking, healthy lifestyle with reduced premiums, if you love the bargain Health Savings Account (HSA) that insures you just for the essentials, or if you simply take comfort in the freedom to spend your own money for a policy that covers the newest drugs and diagnostic tests — you may be shocked to learn that you could lose all of those good things under the rules proposed in the two bills that herald a health-care revolution.

In short, the Obama platform would mandate extremely full, expensive, and highly subsidized coverage — including a lot of benefits people would never pay for with their own money — but deliver it through a highly restrictive, HMO-style plan that will determine what care and tests you can and can’t have. It’s a revolution, all right, but in the wrong direction.

Levy-Izhak Rosenbaum is one of 44 people arrested on July 23, 2009 from New York and New Jersey in a sting on corruption. Rosenbaum has been charged with selling kidneys. The Levy Izhak Rosenbaum arrest has put a spotlight on the organ trafficking in the U.S.

Rosenbaum is a Hasidic Rabbi from Brooklyn, New York who was part of an FBI sting earlier this month that exposed Rabbis and politicians of long-time, widespread corruption. The three mayors, five rabbis and 36 other men stand accused of money laundering and public corruption. Most shocking is that they also stand accused of selling black-market organs. Rosembaum is accused of brokering the sale of kidneys. He is alleged to buying the organs from Israelis for $10,000 and selling them to patients in the United States for $160,000.

A two year old girl and her 8 month old half brother were found alive in a garbage can outside a Dayton, Ohio business. They had been missing almost 14 hours and were found this morning, Monday, July 27,2009. Tommie Lee Johnson has been arrested in relation to the incident Read more and see the suspects mugshot below.

Tommie Lee Johnson, Jr.

Ashonti Johnson, age two, and Tommie Johnson III, age 8 months, were found in a large city garbage container behind Felty Electric after an intense all night search. They are both the children of Alisha Whitehead, 27. Tommie lee Johnson Jr. is the biological father of Ashonti, but not baby Tommie. The relationship between Alisha Whitehead and Tommie Lee Johnson has been described as on again, off again over the last several years. Police believe Tommie Johnson threw the children in the garbage can after a fight with their mother.
