Anthony Sowell, a convicted rapist and sex-offender, is being sought after six bodies, found in a Cleveland home, were discovered by authorities executing a search warrant after Sowell was accused of rape last month. Police were searching the home when they found the remains of two people upstairs in the home. Then they found four more bodies during the search. Sowell was not at home when the search was conducted, and has not been located at this time.

David Coleman Headley and Tahawwur Hussain Rana the two men charged in Muhammad cartoon revenge plot, were arrested by the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task force after their plot to kill the cartoonist responsible for the Muhammad cartoons was uncovered. The men, childhood friends, were charged in Federal Court and could face up to life in prison if convicted.

Edward Ates is on trial for murdering his son-in-law. His attorneys are claiming he couldn’t have committed the murder because he is too fat to have killed Paul Duncsak. Is this a valid defense for murder? Can you be in such bad physical shape that you can’t commit a crime?

A New Jersey jury is going to have to weight in on whether or not obesity is a proper defense in a murder trial. Edward Ates is on trial for murdering his son-in-law in New Jersey in August 2006. The defense strategy is to show that Ates could not have physically pulled of the crime because of his weight. His physical condition would have made it impossible for him to have accomplished the physical labor necessary for him to have done what he is accused of doing.

A Norwegian man has been arrested for attempting to smuggle snakes and geckos into Norway. He had the reptiles taped to his body, in various places. His stash was discovered when he was ‘jiggling too much’.

When a 22-year-old man from Norway got off a ferry that had landed in Kristiansand, Norway after traveling from Hirtshals, Denmark, his whole body was jiggling and shaking. The constant movement of his body drew the attention of customs officials. When he was searched, Customs agent Helge Breilid said that he was found to have 14 royal pythons and 10 albino leopard geckos under his clothing.

The trial begins for Raymond Jessop. He is the first of twelve men who will stand trial in connection with the Yearning for Zion Ranch polygamist case. The case garnered national attention in April 2008 when the ranch was raided and over 400 children were removed from the compound.

Jury selection has started in Eldorado, Texas for the first of the men who will stand trial for polygamy among other charges in the case of the Yearning for Zion Ranch case. The case is notable for several reasons, one of which is that it has been the largest child custody cases in American history. The State took 439 children of sect members into custody when it was raided in April 2008. The Fundamentalist Church of Christ of Latter Day Saints (FLDS) is a sect that broke away from the Mormon Church. Polygamy is no longer practiced by Mormons.

Michelle Riley is the Illinois woman who has plead guilty in the torture-slaying of a developmentally disabled woman and her unborn child. She is one of six people charged in the torture death of Dorothy Dixon in January 2008.

Michelle Riley, 37-years-old apparently has decided the sentencing for pleading guilty to the murder charges against her is preferable to standing trial and almost certainly facing a much harsher sentence. On Monday, October 26, 2009, she plead guilty in the Madison County Circuit Court to the charges of first-degree murder in Edwardsville, Illinois. Her guilty plea is in exchange for a sentence of 30 to 45 years in prison. Her sentencing date hasn’t been set, but she will be required to serve her complete sentence.

For three weeks in October of 2002 he terrorized a nation; now seven years later, John Allen Muhammad, the DC sniper will die by lethal injection. The DC sniper’s execution date is November 10th in Virginia for the murder of Dean Myers who was killed while innocently pumping gas in Manassas, Virginia.

Covering Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia, the DC sniper struck terror into the hearts of millions as John Allen Muhammad and his young accomplice Lee Boyd Malvo were responsible for the death of 10 individuals. The two terrorists were also suspected of murders in Louisiana and Alabama.

What would you do for World Series tickets? Apparently there are people who would offer themselves up for prostitution for World Series tickets. That’s what one woman did. Susan Finkelstein was arrested for just that.

Susan Finkelstein really loves the Phillies, so much so that she was apparently willing to prostitute herself to get tickets to see them play in the New York Yankees in the World Series. She is accused of placing an ad on Craigslist (Craigslist again!) offering herself up in exchange for the tickets. She titled her ad ‘DESPERATE BLONDE NEEDS WS TIX!’. In her ad she described herself as a huge Phillies fan. She went on to give her physical description, ‘gorgeous, tall, buxom blonde diehard Phillies fan’. She added that she was ‘creative’ and willing to come up with something extra to entice someone to trade whatever she had to offer for admission to the game.

Police in Connecticut have announced that John William Lomax has been arrested and charged with the Jasper Howard murder. The University of Connecticut football player was stabbed to death on October 18, 2009.

John William Lomax, III, 21-years-old, of Bloomfield, Connecticut has been arrested and charged with the murder of University of Connecticut football player Jasper Howard. Lawyers have protested on behalf of Lomax that he was trying to break up a fight and didn’t stab Howard. Lomax was known by the nickname ‘Pooda’.

So here’s something you don’t read everyday. Weusi McGowan throws feces in Court, gets 31 years in prison. Was the 31 years for throwing feces? No, McGowan was on trial for robbery and was really unhappy with his lawyer during his robbery trial in San Diego. He did get a couple of extra assault charges thrown in on top of his robbery and residential burglary charges after he rubbed feces on his lawyer and threw what was left at a juror. The juror was not hit but his briefcase was ruined.
