Raja Lahrasib Khan is in some serious trouble. Kahn is the Chicago area cab driver charged with aiding terrorists and attempting to fund Al Qaeda. Raja Lahrasib Khan is a naturalized citizen who is originally from Pakistan. He is accused of attempting to provide money to known Al Qaeda terrorists so that they could purchase explosives.
You can read more about Raja Lahrasib Khan, and his alleged plot to provide aid to Al Qaeda terrorists, below.
Reports allege that Khan discussed the bombing of an unnamed stadium here in the United States. Additionally, Khan claims to know a high level Al Qaeda terrorist who is already facing charges in an unrelated terror plot in Chicago.
Khan was arrested after it was learned that he was attempting to provide money to a terrorist who claimed to need funds to purchase explosives. Khan is now in Federal custody, and has appeared before a U.S. magistrate judge and was ordered held until a status conference can be held on Tuesday. He has been appointed an attorney to represent him.
The U.S. Attorney for the Chicago stressed that there were no specific threats against Chicago, but stated the following:
“these charges, once again, affirm that law enforcement must remain constantly vigilant to guard against domestic support of foreign terrorist organizations.”
So, what do you think about Raja Lahrasib Khan, the cab driver charged with aiding terrorists? You have to remember that Raja Khan is a United States citizen and is therefore entitled to every single protection under the law. He is a naturalized citizen. So, should his citizenship be revoked if he’s found guilty? Should he be dealt with like a common criminal or should other rules apply? Feel free to leave your comments below.

I am not sure what point it makes to naturalize a foreign national if all they are going to be is a cab driver? An engineer with a valid job offer I could see. If I applied for Australian or New Zealand citizinshipe they would want me to fit a specific trade classification with a real job offer “they needed to fill” plus have significant cash assets so they wouldn’t be put our if things fell thru. simple being a high school or college graduate from the US wouldn’t be enough. So what are we doing wrong? If convicted he should forfeit his citizenship. Let the word go out.

Brian, you have a valid point. However, path to citizenship doesn’t always have to do with ability to fit a certain work profile. What about citzenship through marriage? And Cab drivers also do pay taxes. Now, the act of aiding a terror network itself should be classified as treason. If convicted this person should probably be exiled.

Hey, hasnt anyone ever heard of INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY??
You’re talking about how to punish Mr Khan before he has even had a trial!
Think about all the incompetence of government that you’ve witnessed in your lifetime, and think twice about convicting anyone before they’ve had a chance to prove their innocence. Countless people have been exonerated after the government claimed to have proof beyond reasonable doubt.
NEXT TIME, THIS COULD BE YOU!

i agree with mike, what happened to innocent until proven guilty. the laws back in the 70 where different. he is an american citizen at the end of the day regardless of his profession. he is well known amongst the taxi cab society. he has helped with improveing safety for cab drivers. even a low job as a cab driver is important to america. after all how do we get to point a or point b? all the important americans who need to get to work?
i dont beleive a cab drive could afford to support anyone or any cause other than his only family? they probably dont even make ends meet they dont make much. do the research.
also if i can remeber and if history says that america was occupied by native americans aka indians than who are you, me or anyone to say that mr khan to be exhiled? we ourselfs do not hail origin from america! i may have been born, raised and will die in america but my ancestors where not always americans.
he has every right the same right that a person has when they are born in america as everyone else. why is he being treated like he has no rights, no one knows the whole truth which is why we go to court to prove our innocense.
remember when they were looking for bin laden who was a cia opperative? the weapons of mass destruction? i dont recall hearing anything else regarding that. were they not so certain that they would find wmds that they went to war? they managed to find a stubby saddam in a hole but nothing else. who by the way was appointed by america. makes you wonder could i be next?

I BELIEVE HE IS INNOSENT,
IF HE GOES DOWN THEN THE GOVERMENT HAVE MADE A TERRIBLE MISTAKE. Just think a man who has spent most of his life as a cabbie in chicago, he has never had a complaint, hes had compliments. He’s just an innocent man who has been caught up in something that was never expected. The goverment shoud free HIM IMMEDIATLEY.

Like ryan says i believe raja is compleatly innocent, and he should be freed immediatly instead of wasting valuable time & the government should focus on the real criminals, having said that with a few hundred dollars it is impossible to buy any thing with that. You cant fund the al-qaeda with that much money.
He is an american citizen he loves america and i personally believe he will never ever commit an act like what they think he is doing.
All this is a complete set up.
My views towards this has been set up by the government towards a bearded man, which is discrimination.
