It appears that the manager for the Black Eyed Peas decided that it was up to him to see Perez Hilton punched in the face. Perez Hilton, celebrity blogger, was punched after an argument with Black Eyed Peas singer Will.I.Am in which Hilton called Will.I.Am a “fa**ot”.

Hilton issued a video statement about the incident and Will.I.Am followed up with a statement of his own. Now I’m sure this is going to come as a shock to everyone, but the statements tell two completely different stories. The videos are below so you can decide for yourself who to believe.

According to the story on FoxNews Hilton first reported the incident on his personal Twitter account. There were four “tweets” reported by FoxNews:

“I was assaulted by Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas and his security guards,” the gossip blogger wrote on his Twitter account. “I am bleeding. Please, I need to file a police report. No joke.”Hilton continued in three subsequent tweets:

“Still waiting for the police. The bleeding has stopped. I need to document this. Please, can the police come to the SoHo Met Hotel.”

“I spoke to my lawyer. I really need to talk to the authorities. Please come to the SoHo Met Hotel. Have called the police. Need them here.”

“The Toronto police are here now. Thank you. Please stop calling them.”

First off I have a question for Hilton. Does he really think that the Toronto Police has a Twitter Account, and if they do that they are following it waiting for people to report crimes? In America there is a service known as 911 to take care of this. I’m sure that Canada has a similar system. I’ve just never heard of people expecting the police to respond to posts on Twitter. The next thing that worries me a bit is that enough people took it upon themselves to report this to the Toronto Police that he had to ask his fans to stop calling the station.

I am sure there is much more to this situation, but I will be honest, I really couldn’t care less. I’ve never been to Hilton’s site, and I am not a fan of the Black Eyed Peas, but from what I’ve read so far it sounds like Hilton was bound to get punched for some of his stunts sooner or later.

The interesting thing is that it appears that the whole incident started when Hilton called Will.I.Am a “fa**ot” during the argument. Hilton, who is openly gay, states in his video statement that he called Will.I.Am that because he knew it would get a reaction. Imagine the roles being reversed for a moment, if a homosexual man punched someone in the face for being called a “fa**ot” would this even be a story right now? Somehow I highly doubt it. I’m guessing the story would be more along the lines that the heterosexual man had it coming for using that type of language.

In this case you have a homosexual man, who obviously knew that calling a hetrosexual man a “fa**ot” would cause a reaction, and it appears that Hilton knew that the reaction would be violent because he admits as much in the second part of his video below. Generally when you go looking for a fight, and a fight finds you, you shouldn’t be too upset if you end up on the wrong side of the fight.

I’m not condoning resorting to violence, but in this case it seems like violence was exactly what Hilton was asking for. In fact, the FoxNews story ends the report by discussing Hilton’s video statement as follows:

He went further in his video statement, calling the singer “a f***ing coward,” and adding he would have had more respect if he would have punched him in the face himself.

Will.I.Am Video

What do you all think? It appears to me that the altercation that got Perez Hilton punched was escalated by Hilton. I don’t think that we would be reading much about the Perez Hilton Will.I.Am argument if Hilton hadn’t decided to throw in a slur like “fa**ot” into the mix. I know that if the tables had been reversed and Will.I.Am had used the same term Hilton used we wouldn’t even be discussing the assault, and would instead be focusing on the statement. Seems like hypocrisy, but I’d love to hear what you all think.
