Here are the Mark Sanford emails that everyone is looking for today. The governor admitted to an affair with his girlfriend in Argentina named Maria earlier this morning. By afternoon email messages between Sanford and his lover were published in a local newspaper online called The State in South Carolina.
Mark Sanford’s lover Maria must be blushing to receive these email messages! Such a Cicero. What a Shakespearean touch!
See below where to read them all!
Sanford email message to lover #1:
Two, mutual feelings …. You have a particular grace and calm that I adore. You have a level of sophistication that so fitting with your beauty. I could digress and say that you have the ability to give magnificent gentle kisses, or that I love your tan lines or that I love the curve of your hips, the erotic beauty of you holding yourself (or two magnificent parts of yourself) in the faded glow of the night’s light - but hey, that would be going into sexual details…
Three and finally, while all the things above are all too true - at the same time we are in a hopelessly - or as you put it impossible - or how about combine and simply say hopelessly impossible situation of love. How in the world this lightening strike snuck up on us I am still not quite sure. As I have said to you before I certainly had a special feeling about you from the first time we met, but these feelings were contained and I genuinely enjoyed our special friendship and the comparing of all too many personal notes…
Lastly I also suspect I feel a little vulnerable because this is ground I have never certainly never covered before - so if you have pearls of wisdom on how we figure all this out please let me know… In the meantime please sleep soundly knowing that despite the best efforts of my head my heart cries out for you, your voice, your body, the touch of your lips, the touch of your finger tips and an even deeper connection to your soul.

In another he signs off an email message with the world’s greatest adieu:

And then there is this little touch of state business:
Sanford email message to lover #3:
“To me, and I suspect no one else on earth, there is something wonderful about listening to country music playing in the cab, air conditioner running, the hum of a huge diesel engine in the back ground, the tranquility that comes with being in a virtual wilderness of trees and marsh, the day breaking and vibrant pink coming alive in the morning clouds - and getting to build something with each scoop of dirt.”

The problem with these Republican sliders is that they have no empathy for other human beings and their human behavior but then when it comes to them and their behavior they hide behind the curtain of life, then when caught they demand forgiveness. I personally feel very sorry for his family, his wife and dear sons who were caught in his games. I also feel sorry for all of those people who he doesn’t have compassion for himself like the gays who struggle with just getting equal rights in this country while he and his party members enjoy it all while depriving others.
The Republicans we hear mostly like Hannity, O’Reily, Palin, Limbaugh, McCain, Ensign and other loud mouths make statements that Democrats and no-republicans have absolutely no respectible values because they are not rightious like the so called Republicans. This can be nothing further from the truth. The truth is everyone has values, maybe not the same but they have their values as these case prove. If these sliders want understanding and forgiveness they should first denounce their own lack of empathy and open their hearts to others especially gays and people of differences.

Wow, we need more people who can write love letters like that in our government, both here in SC and in America as a hole (sic). The ability to lie through one’s teeth, fault others but not oneself, and creative reframe one’s behavior as leadership are values of the Far Right. Can you just imagine ex-President Clinton acting as wildly as Mark Sanford? Can you imagine him being so exposed and yet choosing to continue as Governor in this Far Right, Christian Values state and people actually allowing him to do so? The REAL values of the Far Right need to be openly discussed - you know, the Kill for Christ and the support of the death penalty and the votes against things like welfare and universal health care and the support for torture. Amazing, truly amazing that these people continue to believe that they are the Moral Majority. God help us…

I found this very helpful. I have been learning the ropes on my own and taking advice wherever I can get it.
