What’s a beauty queen to do when the people who fixed her up to be crowned queen of the event take the crown away and then just keep the publicity going. It turns out that the Miss California USA Pageant wants Carrie Prejean breast implants back! I don’t guess they really want the implants, but they want the money they paid to have her breast enhancements back.

Apparently, Carrie Prejean got quite a deal to get breast enhancement done. K2 Productions, the producers of the Miss California USA pageant are suing her for $5,200, the cost of her boob job. One might wonder why the pageant people paid for them to begin with. Well, they are claiming they fronted her the money, as a loan, to enhance (so to speak) her chances of winning the Miss California title. They say it was a verbal agreement. They are now demanding that she pay them the amount owed out of any profits she makes from her book that is due out in November 2009.

This is obviously a showcase lawsuit that is designed as a countersuit to Miss Prejean’s earlier lawsuit against K2 Productions for violating her privacy by revealing publicly that she had the breast implants to begin with. The production company claims that she, herself, revealed the breast augmentation when she walked onto the stage, during the Miss USA pageant in a bikini. Experts are saying there is no chance of the pageant receiving the funds as it is spent money. If they do, they say the money will be donated to charity.

Oh my! Will this nastiness never end?

As you probably know, this all began when Ms. Prejean was crowned Miss California after having been asked a question by blogger Perez Hilton about her views on gay marriage. A firestorm of publicity and faux outrage ensued when she gave a politically incorrect answer to the question. She was stripped of her Miss California title. She claims she was stripped of the title because of the controversy. The pageant producers say it’s because she failed to fulfill her contractual obligations. Whatever. They didn’t like how she answered the question and everyone is getting a ton of free publicity out of it.

Of course, media outlets like MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann are having a field day making fun of Ms. Prejean’s inflated expectations and ballooning celebrity. Ha, ha.

This reminds me of an acquaintance who was getting a divorce. The judge suggested splitting their assets in half. My friend told the judge that if they were doing that, then he wanted her breasts, shocking the courtroom. ‘I paid for them’, my friend said, ‘I want them back’. I guess we can all be grateful that they are just asking for the money rather than the Miss California USA pageant wanting Carrie Prejean’s breast implants back.
