What do you get when you drive 1,000 miles wearing a diaper to stalk and possibly kidnap your romantic rival? One year probation and time served (two days in jail). That’s what happened this afternoon, Lisa Nowak sentenced today in the Colleen Shipman case that had everybody talking nearly three years ago.

The former Navy Captain and ex-astronaut, married with two children, Lisa Nowak, seemingly lost her mind when she fell head over heels in love with Space Shuttle pilot Bill Oefelein. Seeing that she was going to lose Oefelein to Colleen Shipman, Nowak drove from Houston, Texas to Florida to confront Shipman.

Reports said that Lisa Nowak went in disguise, wearing a trench coat and wig and even wore adult diapers so she wouldn’t have to take potty breaks on the long drive. At the Orlando International Airport, Nowak confronted Shipman and tried to get into her car.

Lisa Nowak was arrested and had several curious items in her possession when police picked her up. A BB pistol, a steel mallet, rubber tubing, and several garbage bags; draw your own conclusions from that list of items.

The judge handed down a light sentence in the case saying that Nowak’s actions since her arrest were commendable and also considered her record before her arrest. Colleen Shipman said:

“Please don’t be fooled. I was fooled. Lisa Nowak is a very good actress,” Shipman said. “She turned on her charm and spun a pitiful story.”

Lisa Nowak was also sentenced to anger management classes as well as 50 hours of community service. The former Space Shuttle crew member says that she has been cured of all her mental problems and suffers from none at the moment.
