In Phoenix, Arizona an 8-year-old rape victim’s parents, charged with abuse, are facing seven counts of child abuse for incidents dating back to 2005. The 8-year-old Liberian girl was sexually assaulted by four boys earlier this year. All four boys have been charged in the attack. The parents of this girl have, on two separate occasions, had reports of child neglect filed against them.
This is a terrible case all around. These parents publicly stated that after their 8-year-old daughter was gang raped that the little girl had “shamed” the family. The State of Arizona took custody of the child after the incident. Read more about this story below.
This story is enough to make anyone upset. According to reports:
Police said the parents, refugees from the West African nation, used sticks, wires and their fists to hit their young daughter.
Additionally, the child was seen wandering the apartment complex where she lived late at night and begging for food. Multiple reports of neglect were filed with Arizona authorities. The parents have been taken into custody and bail was set at $30,000. These parents have four other children, and not only do they face years in prison for multiple felony counts of child abuse, but they face deportation as well once any jail or prison sentence is imposed. After the arrest warrant was issued the parents were arrested without incident.
I simply have no patience for these parents. I understand that they do not come from the United States, and that things aren’t the same everywhere, but I think we can all agree that beating a child with sticks, wire, and fists, is not acceptable anywhere. If it is acceptable somewhere then that is a place that I never want to visit. The other real problem I have is the parents reaction to the rape of their daughter. It wasn’t outrage, it wasn’t anger at the attackers, and there was no statements of support for this innocent child. No, these parents, and I use the term loosely, stated that they were “shamed” by the rape of their daughter. I’m not a fan of the government taking over as many aspects of our lives as they already have, but I’m sure glad that Arizona decided that this child didn’t need to live in this type of environment anymore.
So, to sum up, the 8-year-old rape victim’s parents charged with abuse in Phoenix, are facing 8 felony child abuse charges, years in prison, and deportation. I would be okay with an order that they aren’t allowed to have any more children just to top it off. Anyone who can look their 8-year-old daughter in the eye after she has been raped by four people and say that it is somehow her fault and that she has brought shame on the family doesn’t deserve children. That’s my two cents, what do you all think?

I notice an awfully lot of black faces have been showing up on violent and abuse crimes as of late from murders to assults. and they all look totally disheveled. While the murders are prosecuted fully, many of the aszults are settled with light sentences, nonsupervisory probation, anger management, and the like. Is there something going on?

I mean this is all across the net and print media not just here which seems pretty representative. Whenever I google more on the story from any media source a photo comes up and you guessed it.

well i am very sorry that this young girl had to go through this I know how she feals for i used to live with my adoptive parrents in eagar about 4 hrs away from phx formy biological dad he is currently serving 45 years in prision for raping a minor and my biological mom is a drug addict and a achooololic so i was taken from her when i was 5 with my 2 brothers then in 1996 i was adopted and we moved to az from ohio and until 7/7/07 my 5 adoptive sisters were expected to sleep with my adoptive dad( he said to keep them safe, and we all were beaten with belts every day by both of them and the only reason the state found out was that they forced me to live outside without proper facillities and later they both were arreasted and chasrged with 21 cts of felony child abuse and they were sentenced 3 yrs of probation and after a yr of supervised visits they can return home and 366 days later they were banging on the foster parrents door and gave them a paper saying they can return home so i am not exactly sure why these people got a much harder sentence for less felonies!
