The story of Shaniya Davis is one of those stories that makes my blood boil. The details are horrific and this innocent little girl suffered beyond belief before she was murdered. Her story was featured across the nation and it caught the eye of Shaquille O’Neal. O’Neal was moved enough by the story that he paid for the funeral.
O’Neal is quoted as saying:
“I was sitting at home watching it on the news and the story brought a tear to my eye,”
The funeral home did not state what the funeral cost. I’m sure that the cost didn’t mean anything to Shaq, but I’m sure the gesture meant the world to the family. I am impressed that Shaq would do something like this to help a family that is hurting right now.
Shaq is known for being kind of a ham at times, but this does sound pretty sincere. I don’t even care that he’s promoting the fact that he’s the one who paid for it. I hope that more people in his financial position would do more things like this.

Mr. O’neal, I always knew you were a wonderful example for our young people; you have just proved that you are an angel as well. Thank you for giving this little angel the dignity in death that she was not allowed in life.
