So it appears that Roman Polanski bail granted in Switzerland has become a reality. The Polanski bail had been repeatedly denied by a Swiss Court, but that decision was reversed and a Swiss Judge stated that Polanski could be released to house arrest if he posted $4.5 million bail. The earlier requests for bail had been denied because Swiss authorities considered Polanski a flight risk.
Polanski was arrested in Switzerland and is facing extradition to Los Angles to face sentencing for his guilty plea for raping a 13 year old girl. He then fled the country after he learned that it was possible that the judge assigned to the case wasn’t going to go along with the short jail term that prosecutors were asking for.
The Swiss considered Polanski a flight risk which is why the Polanski bail had been previously denied. The Secretary General of Interpol made the following statement:
“Mr. Polanski has given us more than 30 years of proof that he does not feel bound to respect any court decision with which he does not agree,” he said. “The world law enforcement community should do all in its power to make sure that the Swiss judicial process is allowed to run its course, and if Mr Polanski defies the conditions of his release, no country should welcome, offer safe haven to, or defend his conduct.”
The fact that the Swiss decided to grant bail, and the prosecutor’s office has decided not to appeal the ruling granting bail, despite his past history, doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. The Polanski bail ruling allows him to go to his Swiss mountain chalet and he must wear an electronic ankle monitor at all times while the Swiss Courts decide whether or not he should be extradited to Los Angles.
Polanski was afraid that the judge wasn’t going to go along with the recommendation for how long he was supposed to serve behind bard. The initial sentence was for him to serve 90 days in prison for a psychiatric evaluation. After 42 days the recommendation was for Polanski to be released. The judge was going to make him serve out the rest of the 90 days, so Polanski decided to flee.
90 days for raping a child and this was too much for Polanski? I cannot believe that 47 days behind bars was too much for Polanski to take. If it was up to me he would still be in prison for raping and sodomizing a 13 year old, after giving her alcohol and sedatives. I don’t know what makes me more angry, that Polanski raped a 13 year-old child, that there are still Hollywood stars who are still defending Polanski, or that the Swiss have decided to release him on bail even though they know that he’s a flight risk.
So, Roman Polanski bail granted in Switzerland after multiple denials has become a reality. He will be under house arrest in his luxury chalet in the Alps. Sounds rough huh? I know if I were ever arrested for raping a child I would like my prison cell to be a multi-million dollar Swiss chalet with gorgeous mountain views. Additionally there is no guarantee that the Swiss will force Polanski to be sent to Los Angeles to face sentencing. Polanski does have to wear electronic monitoring, but I’m guessing that wouldn’t be too tough to get around if he wanted to run again. I’m guessing that he flees the first chance he gets, but that’s just my opinion. I’d love to hear what you all think about the fact that Roman Polanski bail has been granted.

Did you notice how quickly the Swiss decided not to appeal the court’s bail ruling?
My guess is that the Swiss fervently hope that Polanski will flee to France and will become France’s problem. I would not put it past the Swiss to pre-agree with France on his flight. It’s a short drive from Gstaad to the French border.
And they will keep the $4.5 mil and the chalet.

Mr. Polanski is a degenerate who does not deserve our respect. Polanski fled American justice like the coward he is. Polanski raped a young 13-year-old girl. Polanski pled guilty in a California Court to having sex with a minor. This guilty plea was a gift; given due to his celebrity status, having originally been charged with rape. Polanski raped this young child, after drugging her with alcohol and pharmaceuticals. Despite unsubstantiated defense claims of prosecutorial misconduct, the facts are that Polanski raped this innocent teenager, after luring her to the Hollywood home of actor Jack Nicholson, under the guise of a modeling photo shoot. After first kissing the child, Polanski performed cunilingus on this little one, then raped her committing both vaginal and anal penetration. The illegal carnal knowledge engaged in during this despicable episode was not consensual; as if a thirteen year old could give consent. Quoting Grand Jury Testimony, the young lady repeatedly said, “No!” and “No. Come on, let’s go home.” to the predator Polanski. Nor was this horrible rape statutory in nature, with the implication that this heinous act was a mere infraction of the law. Polanski was forty years plus at the time of this awful act. Is there anyone on earth that can justify this kind of conduct? One hundred fine folks, who represent incredible examples of moronic behavior, signed a demand for Polanski’s release. Woody Allen, a person who had sexual congress with the daughter of his own longtime lover, Mia Farrow. How about Whoopi Goldberg who declared on “The View,” (28th September 2009) while discussing the Polanski rape, that “It wasn’t rape-rape!” Don’t take the “Wrong View!” Polanski must be extradited to face Justice.

ROMAN POLANSKI BAIL GRANTED / BAD STORY
Point 1 ) Roman Polanski isn’t going anywhere
He stays in his chalet.
Point 2) Ultimately the case will be closed
without Roman Polanski doing jailtime in the
USA.
Point 3) In 1987 Roman Polanski was in Holland,
Amsterdam on a TV-show by Dutch presenter Jos
Brink , promoting “PIRATES”.
He can always come to Holland if he wants too.
The Dutch authorities will not extradite him
to America.
So France is NOT the only option.
But , like i’ve said above , he won’t escape.
I , unlike many other people , have blind faith
in Roman Polanski.
But i do believe that things are gonna end well
ONLY IF ROMAN POLANSKI DOESN’T ESCAPE.
And , ONCE AGAIN , i’m sure he won’t do that.
I’m gonna write him a letter to make sure he’s
gonna do the right thing this time.
And i’m not naieve , i believe that i have the
strength to move Roman Polanski to follow my
good advice.
I want this ugly case to belong to the past.
You have to understand that i do this LARGELY
AS A FAVOUR FOR SAMANTHA GEIMER (Gailey).
And in the second place for Roman Polanski.

yes I have come to the conclusion he is an escapee from American justice because he skipped court and fled the country. Anyone else would be extradited and charged for this in court. why should he get a special dispensation because he’s a movie maker of essentially dark and haunted films? I don’t think that is fair to other “lesser souls” who would get crucified by the courts for doing what he did. men should be able to differentiate betweeen a 13 year old girl and a grown women and have enough human decency to leave the kids alone no matter how crazy the times. so on both the decency and legal standards he fails some real basic tests of what society should be able to expect out of its adults.
